Tear of the Deserts

I finished reading this book last Saturday. It was a very touching and heart wrenching book. It talked about the author (Halima Bashir) journey to gain asylum in London.

I would say she's fortunate, as her father loved her very much and supported her education through university.

While she's working as a trainee doctor in a local hospital, she crossed the line with the terrorists that was overtaking the country. They killed and abused the black african in the country.

She was transferred to a village hospital where she secretly help the africans. She was betrayed and the arabs kinapped her and raped her repeatedly.

She wanted to commit sucide but did not. She headed back to her village, to the comfort of her family. She relate her ordeals to her parents.

She was depressed for a while till one day the terrorists attacked her village. Her father while stalling time so that his family can run to safety in the cave was killed.

When they returned, their village was descanted. They decided to seek refuge elsewhere. While the author was gone for a short while, her enemy came and demanded her whereabouts. Her mother lied and they flee leaving her message to flee for her life as it's clearly unsafe for her to remain with them. She left all the golds to the author.

Alone she sat off her journey. It was during her journey, she met a kind-hearted man, who helped arranged her to escape Sudan.

To escape, she used all her golds and landed in London. She tried to seek asylum but was rejected. Despite all the odd, she created a mass appeal and she got her London residency in 2008 along with her husband and son. (Her husband knew of the rape and abused.)

It was a long journey for her. She witnessed numerous dabolic action done by the Arabs. She witnessed how they attacked a village school, and raped students repeatedly as young as 5. I can't imagine those poor girls suffered all the trauma at such a tender age.

I would say that they are inhumane, using their religion as an excuse to commit heinous act. No rightful religion would encourage such an act........
