Wednesday (13/01/10), I received my result slip for my year 1 semester 2. I have As for Law and Accounting but a B for Microeconomic. I was satisfied with my result especially econ, as I have expected it to be worse than B.
I’m really not flair in econ; nevertheless I will try my best for the upcoming Macroeconomics. I believe the foundation must be built firm so that I’m better equipped for year 2.
With these results, at least I feel more confident to tackle my future exams but not over-confidence that I started to treat subsequent exam lightly.
Must study hard and study smart!
Yesterday I took a look at the past year papers for my year 2 & 3 modules. More essays I have to write and all is 100 marks question. It provides an insight to me and I’m more or less mentally prepare for it.
I believe a person can attain their goal if they believe and trust in themselves, and that’s what I’m going to believe in…

Petition Success
Last Friday (09/10/09), I received the email from Esther (my new coordinator) who informed me that my petition to change the timetable has been successful. Even though, there are a few terms and conditions, but it is still within the reasonable range.
Many I believed accepted the changes except for the effective date – April 2010. Even though, most is still glad and willing to wait but I decided to persuade them to move it earlier. There's no harm in trying, just as in the first place I tried to change the timetable. If I doubted myself, I believed our timetable will never change, till someone point out......
Finally, a change of the coordinator proves to be more efficient as compared to Cheryl. I hate to admit that Cheryl is inefficient.
Nevertheless, it lightens my mood for that day as I couldn’t bear the thought of having Saturday lessons throughout course. Imagine all the hassle and trouble it brings to my family and friends who have to accommodate my weekly weekend lessons.

1st result slip...
Yesterday evening I received my result slip from MDIS. I was wrecking with nervous as I torn opened the letter. Inside I was preparing for the worst possible outcome yet I was hoping for the best.
This week I have been opening the mailbox daily. I was anticipating the arrival of my result slip. Just few days ago, I thought it was my result slip. I was trembling when I torn opened the letter, but it wasn’t what I have expected. It was a reminder for my second installments. Immediately I was flabbergasted.
Sill I knew I would receive the letter shortly. Thus I continue opening the mailbox till yesterday I finally got what I have been anticipating.
I couldn’t hide my nervousness and quickly torn opened. I was overjoyed when I saw my grades. I passed with flying color even for accounting module. That paper was my most depressing exam I have taken for last semester. I was praying not to take supplementary paper. Yet I not only passed that module and I got a very satisfactory grade for it.
It gave me a sense of satisfaction and felt that my effort has been rewarded. But I have to bear in mind that this effort has to be continuous throughout my course duration, else it will be meaningless…………………

Summary of events......
This week really tiring for me, firstly I have to prepare Dinah for her SA1, and then it will be my turn preparation for my 1st exam.
I took a numbers of half day leaves to give Dinah intensive coaching, especially her Chinese. Apparently, her level is still low.
The weird part is her Chinese only weak in Han Yu Pin Yin, but not in writing Chinese characters. Too bad, her SA1 focus mainly on Han Yu Pin Yin with minority of Han Zhi.
I can only try my best to clear her confusion, ultimately it’s her effort. Hopefully, she won’t fare too badly.
After this week, next week I have to start preparing my Sociology exam. I consider myself to be fortunate to be able to mix with a few of my course mates, and we suggested splitting up the questions among ourselves, later on consolidate all the questions for a final reviews from the lecturer.
So instead of individually doing 20 questions, we will split among us, and that’s mean 5 questions each. We agreed next Saturday, we shall meet 1 hour earlier before our lesson to consolidate all the questions, and submit for a quick check to see if we have missed out any points.
Eventually we will all use this notes for our exam, actually it’s covered almost all the units except a few, but with the main pints extract out. I believed its made study easier and time saving too. Hopefully it’s the beginning of a group study; I believed forming group is the way to go, in the event if 1 member never turns up, at least others can recap the info for the absentee. Everyone has their strong area, so we can help one another, especially most of us are working adults, we need the additional help…….
Just to side track a bit, yesterday was our new module (Statistic), finally got 1 lecturer randomly group us. I think that will be better for ice breaking, as up till now, I only know the 4 ladies in the whole class. Even though, we might not be in the same class eventually, but it’s good to know one another still.
One never knows what is going to happen, and I believe study is the best time to make some good friends, cos we all share the same goal – to pass and get our degrees.
So finally just want to say nowadays study becoming better for me, at least I have overcome the icy stage……….
Now for really the irrelevant part and late update too. Finally the swine flu seems to settle down, last week was the worst. I was frustrated with all the stringent check, but what to do…..
Currently the big new is the capture of Mas Selemat. He has become the “winner” of the newspaper front cover. Our daily news dosage surely will have his info in it. But I’m surprised that we actually caught him. 1 year over, I have already forgotten about him, and when I read the news that he has been captured in JB, I was laughing at his foolishness. At the same time, amazed that he can escaped in our neighboring country for so long…….It’s really a mixture of feelings, but I’m glad he has been captured and back to where he should be………

Naomi's 4th Birthday (Mixed feeling)
27/03/09 was Naomi officially 4th birthday. As planned, I took leave on that day and spend precious time with her.
We went to Pulau Ubin as she wished. But I think she regretted that decision of her, cos I ended up carrying her most of the time.
We reached there in the late morning, and took our early lunch @ the Ubin First Stop Restaurant.
Initially, Naomi was excited about the change of environment and the food, but once we reached Chek Jawa, she started to feel bored.
I guessed Pulau Ubin after all is very naturalis for her. It's all about the nature......
We paid about $20 for a to anf fro mini bus trip to Chek Jawa. It was a nature walk. I think less than half the journey, Naomi started complaining tired.
Nevertheless, we completed the journey, with alot of resting in between. We only spent a few hours there, and headed bank to mainland Singapore.
Forget to mention, Aaron joined us too. I have to admit with his transportation, the journey become smoother. But I was amazed he could wake up early in the morning (he reached our place @ 9.20am).
Actually after Pulau Ubin, we planned to go shopping, but Naomi dozed off in the car, so we headed home.
Halfway home, Naomi woke up, and complained hungry, so we went to J8 to buy snack for her.
Once home, Naomi and I relaxed at the sofa, and watched "Totally Spies" together. We ate our snack and chatted about the program.
Time passed without us knowing, and the next thing we knew, we had to fetch Natasha. I wished to fetch her early since I had lesson that night.
We fetched Natasha home and we 3 spent time playing together. I waited for Cora to come, and left my instruction for her, and left for my lesson.
That night while I have my lesson, Sharon brought them out together with Kenny and my mother in law to Vivo City (also to celebrate Naomi and Mother in law birthdays).
After my lesson, Aaron came and fetch me (another miracle), and we went to Clarke Quay for dinner (he hasn't eaten not me, but I get to eat as well).
That day was Naomi's joyous day.........And I was glad that I took leave to spend time with her.

1st lesson
25/03/09 was my first day @ MDIS. Perhaps I have already mentally prepared myself for late home-going, thus I was able to adjust easily.
Anyway the lecturer was able to conduct the lesson in a light-hearted way, thus making time easier to pass.
My first lesson was about Organisational Behaviour and Sociology. It was an interesting subject, learning about individual behaviour (too soon to know how will the lesson progress).
We had a break @ 8.30pm, and I called the girls to chat with them abit. I guessed the only thing I need to get used will be time away from them.
I'm so used to be around with them during night time, that I find abit out of place, but I take comfort that it won't be permanent.
I need to organize my schedule more efficiently to optimize my time with them......

Briefing - Good Intro to my goal
Finally my goal becomes more concrete. It might not seems much to others, but to me it's a significant step, especially I have my girls to think of.
I have been delaying my study intention - part for the girls and part for the finance. Recently over the years, my finance has been consistent (I even manage to build little saving) and my girls are gradually growing, gone are the infanthood.
Since now I'm still keen on study, I decided to work on my enthusiasm, and starts browsing through the programmes offer by SIM. Slowly, I eliminate programmes I deem unsuitable or uninterested.
Eventually, my options were narrowed to RMIT-SIM (Buisness Mgt) & UniSim (Bsc in Business). So between them I have to choose one, and the best way is to go for any briefing or introductory session, they might have.
Fortunately for RMIT they did have a briefing session last night, and I quickly registered for it. Another fortunate event, Baohui also signed up for the briefing session, alas I have a companion (else I will be so lonely).
Even though the briefer (one of the visiting lecturer) speech was not very well put to the registees, but the programmes sound rather enriching.
Regardless of the disappointing briefing, I decided to go ahead and take RMIT (Business Mgt). After Chinese New Year, then I will submit the application, later settle study loan. My goal finally coming true.
