Changeling

Yesterday (19/1/09), I and Lynn went to watch "Changeling" at cineleisure. I wanted to watch since last week, but it's either she's busied or me.

Finally both of us were free. It was based on a true story that happened in America in the 1928. The show protrayed the corruptness and incompetency of the government back then.

I did a little bit of research on the story. I'm curious how true the movie can be. I searched the wikipedia and read that it's a "famous" case called the "Wineville Chicken Coop Murder".

It's all started with Christine Collins (Angelina Jolie) trying to find her missing son, Walter Collin. She was backed home one evening to find her son missing. She engaged the help of police to find her son.

They ended up getting a boy similar to her son and forced her to acknowledge him. When she demanded and insisted they got the wrong person, the police sent her to the mental hospital. But her persistent paid off, and she became "popular" suddenly. Probably she's the only person who dared to go against the police.

Her strong belief that her son was alive sparked the public to raise coup against the government.

Gradually, she came to know the possibility that her son might be killed by Jordon Stewart, a mentally unsound pervert who killed young boys.

Years passed and she never came to know the truth.........Her spirit in believing her son was alive was strong, and I salute to her. She must has gone through a huge mental torture, yet she has the strength to fight for her belief........
