Busy Saturday
Saturday (21/02/09) was an extreme busy day for Dinah and me. In the morning, I attended "Parenting Workshop - How to be a Parent Coach", while Dinah attended "Brainstormer workshop". Both ran concurrently.
The workshops were held @ NUS High Sch (Clementi) and it was 9am. It was definitely a distance from our place.
We managed to reach there on time. I would say the workshop (Parent Coach) was very educational. It broaden my perspective as well as improving my parenting style.
I learned a great deal from the workshop. Dinah too enjoyed her time at her workshop. This workshop targets mainly parents with kids from 7 - 14 but a handfuls of the parents have kids who are pre-schooler as well as those who are above 14.
Parenting style indeed knows no boundary. It's just prove to show all parents are keen on becoming a better parent.
The speaker brought fro a postive and interesting way to convey the message. She's very experienced and I would definitely seek her help.
The workhops ended @ 12pm. We went for our lunch at my mum's stall. Dinah enjoyed my mum company alot. We rested a while and we headed for Dinah's Ballet class @ Serangoon.
Thank god, I decided to take a cab so at least Dinah got to nap in the cab. She has a busy day. We reached her class on time @ 2.15pm.
The lesson lasted for an hour, after which we took a light snacks and headed home. By the time we reached home, it was 4.30pm.
I was so tired but still I need to finish up some of my household chores. I managed to catch a short break before Sharon (Aaron's sister) came and joined us for dinner (she actually arranged to meet us for dinner afterwards go prawn fishing).
The kids were overjoyed to see Sharon and Kenny (her fiancer). We had our dinner before we headed to Bottle Tree Park @ Yishun to catch prawn.
Initially our plan was prawn fishing, but the staff discourage if it's meant for the children. They introduced longkang fishing, as prawn fishing required patience which the children wouldn't have.
We purchased the net and small fish tank. The pond was very shallow even Natasha could step in. The girls were so excited and enthusiastic. They caught many fishes, and left happily.
Halfway, Naomi protested that she's hungry, so we went to MacDonald for snacks. Again, the girls had their activity (the MacDonald's premise has a playground).
While the girls were playing, I told her about the writ of summon that was sent to Aaron. I told her my dismay as well as my dilemma. We had a good heart to heart talk.
It was our talk that delayed the time, so we reached home rather late. The girls, especially Dinah have fully utilized their energy. We dozed off instantly after our showers, but it was a plesant exhaustion.
Next time, I will bring the girls there again. It was a new discovery place for us......
