Valentine celebration

14/02/09 is valentine day. My friends and I (total of 5) went to paula ubin to enjoy a sumptuous seafood meal, but before that we went for a show (bride wars).

That days was ejoyable, with a light-hearted movie to start the day. We caught the early afternoon movie, and went Takashimaya for light snacks before we headed off to Changi Village.

We could see couples everywhere, people selling bouquets of roses along orchard road (what a day to earn extra income).

But we did not stay at orchard for long, cos the main itinerary was paula ubin. We reached Changi Village around 4.15pm, and waited for one of our friends husband.

I noticed significant differences in Changi Village. There seems more bustling with activities and peoples. A Changi Village hotel was built too. My memory of there about 5-6 years ago, was a desolated places, where only the transsexuals solicited for customers......

Now it doesn't appears so, in fact it's look more like a food paradise......

Shortly after her husband arrived, and we set off to paula ubin. It was a short boat ride from Changi jetty.

Approximately 15 mins later, we reached. I'm greeted by the serendity of the island, and a reverse of time.......

Everything seems so slow motion and of course the shops were dilapidated a bit but still allure a sense of peace......

It was a good getaway from hectic mainland lifestyles, and apparently it proved too. There were groups of friends as well as foreigners at pual ubin.....

We headed to Ubin first stop seafood restruant for our dinner (that our main focus for the day)....We ordereed 2 plates prawns (big), 1 crab, I sambal kangkong, 1 hotplate beancurbs, and 1 steam fish. Each of us only paid $34.50. What a deal!

After all that eating, we ought to stroll around the island to enjoy the idyllic scenery. We stopped at the beach and found many intersting creatures......It's really a different catch like say Pasir Ris or East Coast beach.......

Well the only thing is I can't really accept the toilets. It's really too ancient singapore style for me to accept....Overall It's an ideal place to explore.....I will sure return to paula ubin...

As the sky turning dark, we decided it's time to return to mainland singapore and explored the next place (that what I want) - Old Changi Hospital.

I was curious as how it appeared and what the fascination of the place. Our intention is to reach there before dark fall but can't make it (hang out too long at Paula Ubin).

We reached old changi hospital around 8pm. We did not venture into the hospital, just took a look around the surroundings. But we did talk to a guy happen to take a smoke outside.

He told us there were a few groups of youngsters exploring the hospital. We chatted casually before leaving.

My aim is not to explore inside of it, but he did give us his facebook detail, so we could take a look at those "photos" which they have taken.

And that how we ended the day.....I did enjoy myself for valentine.......
