Dinah is now Primary 2 and her workload just get heavier. On top of her heavy workload, she’s still thinking of taking up swimming lesson. I’m not in favor of it but she’s insistent.
Currently she’s taking ballet every Thursday night and Kumon every Saturday morning. If she’s to take up swimming, which will be every Friday night, and Friday is her longest hours in school (10.45am to 6.30pm).
Nowadays children sure are busier than the parents. Even though MOE scrape streaming for P4 students, but the school themselves are “streaming” in their own ways.
For Dinah’s school, every end of the year they will base on their results and group them in class accordingly, meaning every year they are changing classes’ base on you result. Those in B & F class are considered the best, and not only the weak students get supplementary lessons, all of them get it. They push students to their potential and I wonder if the students will get over stress.
Fortunately I’ve set down our house rule firm and all of them know that they have to finish their works, revisions or spelling before they’re allow playing. I also cultivate the habit of reading in them, but this is easier as they often see me reading too, so influence by me. Ultimately it's best to start from young and you get to reap the result faster. It’s not easy but it’s definitely worth the hard work....
