Perfect Hostage - Aung San Suu Kyi

Monday (13/04/09) - I have finished reading this book. It relates the history of Burma to the life of Aung San Suu Kyi's father as well as her.

I would say first few chapter emphasize too much on early Burma (1800s - 1900s). I can understand it's building up the knowledge of Burma so as we can understand or at least piece together how thing lead to her hourse arrest. But their building of story can be draggy to me.

Nevertheless, it's interesting to know too. Quite lot of chapter has been talking about her father, and how he bring Burma out from British's rule and their role in the Japanese occupation.

After more than half the book, then the main character step in. To be honest, I'm slightly disappointed by the plot, cos I was expecting to read a biography of Aung San Suu Kyi, but end up reading more of her father.

I guess I'm contradicting myself, but still it's a good knowledge too.
